Friday, October 4, 2025 We will be traveling to the Chula Vista on Friday afternoon. If
enough people go on Friday and would be interested in meeting for dinner, please
mark the registration form. Saturday, October 5, 2025 It’s harvesting season for the
cranberries! And we are going to visit a cranberry bog that is in the process of
harvesting their cranberries! The Wetherby family has over 100 years of experience!
And the third generation along with their children are proud to call this a truly family
owned and operated marsh in the heart of cranberry country. Wetherby’s has had a
presence selling their fresh, hand sorted cranberries at the farmer’s market to kick off
the fall harvest season. Harvest season is always the first weekend in October. For the
Wetherby’s, growing cranberries is more than a job, it’s their way of life! They also
have a market of cranberry goodies! Cost of the museum and he waders for the
cranberry bogs is $20 per person. Our next stop will be the Discover Cranberries
Museum. The museum showcases the cranberry growing heritage. The museum is
housed in the lower level of the current building which was built in 1900 and used for
many years as a cranberry warehouse. The upper floor has a Cranberry Country Café
and Gift Shop. The gift shop features Wisconsin-made food products, like cranberry
mustard, salsa, jams and candies along with cranberry wines from several Wisconsin
wineries. There is also an old-fashioned ice cream parlor including cranberry ice
cream! After visiting the museum and their gift shop, we’ll go a short distance to lunch
at The Pines restaurant. After lunch we’ll stop at the Carr Valley Cheese Factory and
Retail shop in Moushon. I’m sure we’ll be bringing back some good cheese for snacks
later in the day or to take home. At this location we might even be able to watch
cheese being made through a viewing window! After our day of exploring Cranberries
and cheeses, we’ll head back to the Chula Vista and have a nice dinner still to be
determined Sunday, October 6 After a nice breakfast at the resort’s Kilbourne City
Grill, we will head to the Original Ducks for a morning one hour ride through the Dells.
The Duck ride is a one hour, half-land and half-water adventure featuring the most
scenic parts of Wisconsin Dells, including the Wisconsin River, Dell Creek, Lake Delton
and the Dells Scenic Park! Should be a fun ride so remember to bring a jacket along
as the temps may be a bit cooler in October! Cost of the Duck ride is $31 per person.
After the Duck ride, we’ll head back to the hotel to check out and then head to lunch
on the way home. Resort Info: Chula Vista Resort 1000 Chula Vista
Meet outside the old Sears at Woodfield for a caravan to the Dells. Details for the hotel
to the event will be available upon demand.
