A Car Community

By owning a Corvette, you aren’t just driving a sports car. You are part of a large, friendly community of Corvette owners and you’ll find many of them at the North Shore Corvette Club. The club has existed for over 50 years and has become a social epicenter for those who enjoy the greatest American sports car ever produced.

A few car-crazed Corvette lovers, sitting in an ice cream shop in Wilmette, founded the North Shore Corvette Club in 1973. The club has grown through the years and currently boasts over 200 Corvette enthusiasts from the Chicagoland area and beyond. With so many members, the interests are wide and varied.

Our Social Impact

Many of NSCC’s members actively seek out new opportunities to give back to the community! We regularly host events promoting charities such as Lake County Honor Flight, Saint Jude, and the Lake County Sheriff K9 Fund. If a member has a charity they feel strongly about they are encouraged to host an event to bring awareness to their cause!

What is NSCC?

The North Shore Corvette Club (NSCC), founded in 1973 - NSCC has grown to offer a wide range of activities and opportunities for its members, who come from various backgrounds and regions all over Northern Illinois & the Chicago Suburbs!

NSCC focuses on two main themes

Corvettes & having fun!

Activities include:

Social Events: get-togethers, road trips to various locations like Road America and the Corvette Museum, picnics, and an Annual Banquet
Speed Events such as Drag racing, track racing and autocross
Educational Activities like driving schools and car detailing classes
Charity Work such as car shows, food drives and fundraisers

Monthly membership meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM inside Blackdog Speed Shop.

Jerry Mulick - President

I have been working for AT&T, Western Electric, and Bell Telephone Laboratories for 30 years in the Engineering and Data Systems divisions.
I was always interested in Corvettes and after my service in the United States Marine Corps I bought a 1966 Corvette. I joined the North Shore Corvette Club in 1987 so I have 37 years with the NSCC.
In 1985 I started judging Corvettes at Bloomington Gold, NCRS, and MCACN shows.
Today I still judge Corvettes for 3 shows.
I have owned (2) 1963 Corvettes, (10) 1967 Corvettes, a 1995 Corvette, and a 1997 Corvette, a 2001 Corvette, a 2004 Corvette, a 2008 ZO6 Corvette, and now a 2020 Corvette.
My wife Felicia and I belong to many Corvette Clubs all over the world. We belong to a club in Colorado, New Zealand, Australia, and in Germany. We have met many Corvette people all over the world and even today we remain in contact with many of them. The Corvette hobby has kept me busy restoring, judging, and enjoying the many friends we have in the Corvette world.
I am a founding member of the National Corvette Museum and helped get it started in 1994. Today we still travel and go to many shows and judging events.

Jeannie and I have been NSCC members since 2004.

She and I also belong to NCRS national club and to the Illinois and Colorado chapters. We enjoy hanging out with all the members and participating in the activities that the clubs coordinate. We very much enjoy all the friendships that have been made in the clubs.

We purchased our first corvette used (a 2001 Millennium Yellow convertible) in 2004. In 2016 Jeannie ordered an Artic White Z06 convertible that she had the experience of building the engine at the Bowling Green plant.

We enjoy driving both cars to many events across the county and doing casual rides around home.

My husband Doug and I have been members of NSCC since May 2022.

Our '22 Red Mist C8 HTC Z51 Stingray is our first Corvette.

I retired from teaching in 2020 and now enjoy traveling around the country (and the world).

Joining NSCC was one of the best decisions we ever made; we have made many new friends and enjoy spending time with fellow Corvette enthusiasts.

Life is too short to drive a boring car! 🙂

Hello I’m Frank Punzio and I support this message.

I’m going to talk about our 1999 Navy Blue Mallett 435 Coupe that I bought from
a second owner, down in Georgia 19 years ago. We’ve put about 58000 fun miles
since acquiring it and never looked back.

Without the Corvette, Evelyn and I would have never been in this club, for 19 years now, and meeting a bunch of new friends, doing all the things that we would have never dreamed of. I taught my son and daughter how to drive a manual transmission with it, with Jenny learning at an autocross event, how fitting.

I was always into cars, but never had a real performance car and this filled that spot. As the activities chairperson, I’m always in awe of the different events all our members do that keep things interesting.

Ev and I still work, so the fun things are limited, but hopefully not for long!

I have lived in Buffalo Grove for over 22 years. My husband Rich and I have been married for 45 years.

Previously, we lived in NJ and the moved to Tampa, Florida before relocating to Buffalo Grove. I grew up in Berkeley Heights NJ. We have one daughter, Erica who is married. We have 2 grandchildren, Sami who is 10 and MJ who is 4 years old.

I have spent over 32 years in early childhood education.

I have a B.S. from Syracuse University and a Masters Degree from The New School University in New York City.

My wife Mary and I joined the NSCC in 2021 and have thoroughly enjoyed the activities we participated in, and friends we’ve met. Our current car is a 2014 C7 black convertible, and we have plans on upgrading to a C8 in the not-too-distant future.

A bit about me, I am the proud father of three married sons and seven (and counting) grandkids. I retired in 2018 after 40+ years as a founder and President of our family business Matrix Plastic Products in Wood Dale.

I look forward to more involvement with NSCC in the future!

My wife Linda and I joined NSCC in 2018.

Our first Corvette was a 1997 arctic white w/ red interior C5 coupe.

Our current car is a 2006 Machine Silver dual roof, Z51 package, 6 spd manual coupe.

We enjoy the company of all the " Corvette Crazies " and the great friends we've made.

Yes, I'm the youngest in the club. In fact, every time I'm at a restaurant with these guys the waiter assumes I'm somebody's kid and puts me on their tab.

Retired from Abbott Labs in 2004. Married to Ron. Have 4 corvettes. Other interests include our backyard Garden Railroad, Travel and Event Planning.

I bought my first Vette in 1979 and currently have a Torch Red 2012 Grand Sport coupe. My main interests are racing and wrenching activities, especially autocrossing.

I'm a retired CPA firm partner and past board chairperson of the IL CPA Society. My wife Ginny and I split our time between our condo in East Lakeview and our lake house in Pentwater, MI, where I'm currently building a replica of a '65 Shelby Cobra.

It's 1979 and I just Graduated High School.
My Classmate Joe Roe had a '79 Vette & we would go Cruising "Scoop the Loop" on Genesee Street in Waukegan picking up girls.

What a Chick Magnet Corvette & told myself I would own a '79 Vette someday. 44 years later, I finally found my '79 Vette!

My husband Jim and I joined the club in 2014. Our first corvette was yellow and called Tweety. Our current corvette is black and called Sylvester. We have a stuffed Tweety and Sylvester who travel with us and are on display at car shows and parades.

We also have a 1938 Cadillac Coupe that competes for driving time in the good weather.

Toy trains occupy our spare time during the school year months

I have lived in Buffalo Grove for 46 years. My husband and I have been married for 48 years. We have a 40-year-old daughter who lives in California. She is married with 2 kids. Our granddaughter is 6 and our grandson is 4. Our son is 37, married, with 2 children. My grandson is 6 and my granddaughter is 2. He and his family live in Indiana.

My husband and I own a 2018 Ceramic Matrix Grey C7 Corvette. We love taking short road trips in the nice weather.

My husband and I have been part of the NSCC for the last 4 years and I have been on the NSCC board for 2 terms. I enjoy being an active part of the club and have assisted with the annual banquet for 3 years. I also assist with selling raffle tickets at our monthly membership meetings. My husband and I enjoy being involved with the club, as it has a very social membership. We have hosted several social events and have participated in several others.

In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, playing pickleball, golf, Canasta, Mahjong, and traveling overseas.
