Maxson Riverside Restaurant is a beautiful, historic, riverside restaurant on the Rock River in Oregon, IL. Docked at the Maxson is the Pride of Oregon, an authentic paddlewheel riverboat. She’s 102 feet of real river charm, 32 feet wide, and weighs 100 tons. She docks at the historic Maxson Riverside Restaurant and Paddlewheel Inn. Built as a replica of the famous Rosie O’Shea paddlewheel in 1989, her festive exterior and graciously appointed interior provide a relaxing atmosphere for memory-making cruises. She has a capacity of 149 sightseeing passengers.
DINING
We would meet for dinner in the restaurant at 4:00 PM. The menu is extensive, including appetizers, sandwiches, and a variety of meat and fish entrees. The fish may be prepared in several different ways. Entrees include soup & salad, vegetable du jour, choice of baked potato, twice baked potato, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes, loaded baked potato, house-made potato chips, sweet potato fries, or French fries. See the full menu at www.maxsons.net.
CRUISE
We would board at 5:30 PM. The boat departs at 6:00 PM and returns to the dock at 8:00 PM. Enjoy the ride as this charming and elegant paddlewheel boat glides down the Rock River, barely stirring a wake. This true paddlewheel boat features a full bar, is climate controlled, and HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE. The 15-mile round-trip river cruise takes passengers past Lowden State Park and under the watchful eye of Chief Blackhawk, the largest concrete monolith in the country. The boat is fully U.S. Coast Guard certified.
