It’s a really good idea for your own safety to understand how to enter (or exit) your car should the battery die. Modern vehicles often have electronic locks, and when the battery is dead, they do not operate. In this article, we learn how to open the doors should the battery fail, and also how to enter the car and trunk under that condition.
To get out of a Corvette with a dead battery, use the mechanical door release lever or strap located inside the vehicle, typically on the floor by the door sill or near the bottom of the door itself.
To get into the car: For some models (C6), you'll need to access a manual keyhole to pop the trunk, then reach in to find the internal door release. For other models (C7/C8), you use the emergency key from the fob to unlock the driver's door and then find the internal manual release.
The videos below focus on the C6-C8 Corvettes, so earlier generations with electronic locks may require slightly different methods for entry/exit. Please do a dry-run on your own car, and educate others that may be driving your vehicle. It could save a life.
